Overview

Top 5 water-related global challenges determined through large advisory meeting. In particular, the discussion on growth and development reflected the commitment of the host country, which aims to achieve economic development using water.

The five water-related global challenges were:

  • Water for Growth and Development
  • Implementation of IWRM
  • Water and Sanitation for All
  • Water for Food and the Environment
  • Risk Management

Key Achievement

Ministerial Declaration
The Ministerial Declaration signed by 148 Governments recognized water and sanitation issues as a top priority in the political agenda to support sustainable economic development and reduce poverty.

Korea's engagement

The Korean delegation led by the Vice-Minister of Construction and Transportation accounted 70 people.

The Korea Water Forum was appointed as a coordinator for the Northeast Asia region.
