What is a "Side event"?
Side events offer additional opportunities to engage in the 7th World Water Forum. They also provide the space to Forum participants to freely discuss issues that have not been fully covered during the Forum sessions. Open to all participants, a side event is also a unique platform to present your latest projects and activities while networking with other participants in a convivial atmosphere.
How can I organize a side event?
Please be aware that the 7th World Water Forum is hosted by Daegu (EXCO) and Gyeongju (HICO), and the distance between the two host cities is approximately 70㎞. If you plan to organize your own event, it is strongly advised that you check the Forum program and decide in which city you wish to have your event. Please check the city for your event when you submit a side event application.

After sign up the website of the 7th World Water Forum, you can submit the side event application form.

The application form can be submitted BEFORE the appliers complete personal forum registration. (Please note that the side event organizers must register later.)
Side events can mainly be organized during the lunch break or in the evening. The Forum Secretariat will arrange the schedule of side events and assist with the necessary logistical arrangements. The Forum Secretariat reserves the right to reschedule side events at any time. Please be aware that, due to space limitations, a room may not be assigned to applicants who submitted their application after the deadline. Furthermore, sending an application on time does not guarantee that your request will be honored. Preference will be given to events which are of high relevance for the themes and topics of the 7th World Water Forum.
The online application for Side Events is available on the Forum here. Side Events application will go on until January 16, 2015. The Forum Secretariat will evaluate applications and inform the results After January 2, 2015.
How will people be informed about the Side event?
Registered side events will be announced via the Forum website, the Forum program and the official documentation given to participants (paper and electronically). However, the production and distribution of any documents for the side event remains the responsibility of the organizer. The Forum Secretariat will not produce flyers, distribute notices, or run other publicity efforts for side events.
Rental costs and extra services
The Forum Secretariat provides basic equipment to side event organizers with the room rental fee. Extra service and additional technical equipment also can be provided upon request. Please note that extra equipment will be at the side event organizers costs. There will be an announcement on application for the extra equipment and catering service.
