[High Level Panel] Water Security and Sustainable Development: Co-operation among Disciplines and Stakeholders

The proposed High Level Panel session will be organized by UNESCO International Hydrological Programme (IHP) in collaboration with K-water Institute and aims to emphasize the importance of co-operation among disciplines and connect scientific findings into the social, economic and political processes systems to address water security challenges and provide feedback mechanisms for upcoming Sustainable Development Goals. Case study presenter and Experts from different regions will present their perspectives and experiences focusing on the science and policy developments needed to address the water security challenges for in the context of Sustainable Development. The High Level Panel (HLP) roundtable will be organized as a special event during the 7th World Water Forum enabling sharing of information and experiences between scientists, policy makers and stakeholders to discuss challenges and opportunities of the Sustainable Development particularly in the context of water security, considering geographic hotspots such as small islands, arid and semi-arid regions, densely populated flood and drought affected areas, cities and mountain regions with melting glaciers.
